Goan Foods You Must Try...

Goa is one of the most visited tourist destinations of India. It not only attracts thousands of foreigners every year, but it is also turning out to be the best place for R&R for Indians too. And yes, the food is amazing too. The seafood served in Goa is one of its kinds. Once you’ll taste it, you’ll be compelled to taste some more.

If you are visiting Goa for the first time and wish to try its great cuisine, then have a look at the following:

Fish: Fish curry is the comfort food for every Goan. Seafood like king fish, mackerels, squid, sting rays, mussels, oysters, pomphret, sardines, shark fish, crayfish and prawns are very popular. You can find fish in any of the restaurants or food stalls and you’ll not regret trying it. It’s simply amazing.

Rice: Most of the Goan meals include rice in one form or the other. You can find it in different forms, be it boiled, steamed or fried - from simple everyday rice to rice pulaos and steamed sannas

Veg Stews: If you are a strict vegetarian, fear not. Like its famed seafood and meat dishes, Goans also have a rich repertoire of vegetable stews. These stews are available at every nook and corner of this lovely city. You can try a different stew for each day and even then you’ll not run out of options.

Coconut Water: If you are tired of drinking hard drinks and soft drinks, coconut water can be a nice option for you. Most of the Goan dishes also contain coconut milk. As coconut water is nothing but a natural health drink, you can consume as much as you can without bothering about any side effects.

Bhaji Pao: Try Goa’s special bread, Bhaji Pao with vegetable, fish or meat curries. It’s a healthy combination that will keep you energized for an entire fun filled day at the beach.

Deserts are Great too: If you want to try out an authentic Goan desert then you must try the bebinca. It is a special kind of pudding that is made up of egg yolk and coconut. Built in layers, this sweet dish looks as good as it tastes!
