Non-vegetarian Goan Dishes: Favourite of Many People

Delectable taste of non-veg Goan dishes makes it the favourite of many people around the world. Here, you will get acquainted with some of the popular dishes made in almost every home of Goa. 

Who doesn’t love Goan dishes? Almost all of us, including the vegans. Many tourists come here from all around the world to enjoy its culture, beaches and more importantly its diverse cuisine- that boasts of something for everyone. It has a quintessential Portuguese and Goan essence in its food and some people also feel the impression of Kerala due to spices.  Fish, chicken, coconut milk, rice spices and traditional recipes are main ingredients of today’s Goan food.

Goan fish curry

Every local is aware of the fish curry’s irresistible taste, and it is prepared in every home of Goa. Consider it as an appetizer or main course; you are going to find this on your plate. Tuna fish tastes great after marinating with delectable spices. 

Chicken cafreal

Chicken cafreal, a dish introduced by Portuguese is very well assimilated in daily life of people. Coriander, cinnamon, chilli, clove powder and lime juice are its main ingredients. It tastes better when covered in thick green gravy.

Clams in coconut masala

Clams are widely used in Konkani cooking. While cooking, the clams are opened carefully and the soft meat inside the shell is used for variety of dishes. It is rich in phosphorus, proteins, iron, and several other healthy nutrients. 
 
Chicken xacuti
It is a very tasty dish consisting of poppy seeds and Kashmiri chilies. It takes around 2 hours to be prepared. If you are a fan of spicy chicken dishes, then this definitely is worth eating.
