Sweets Goan food: Mouthwatering and Scrumptious

Goa needs no introduction as its beauty and charm is widespread. Goa is popular not only for its immense natural beauty but also for its delicious cuisine. Sweets Goan food is equally famous as they joyful in every sense.

Goan cuisine is packed with delicacies that have been attracting people from all across the globe. The sweets Goan food such as Bebinca and dodol are indeed very popular as they help people in satisfying their craving for sweet. Those with sweet tooth can find themselves in paradise while they are in Goa. Bebinca, Goa’s favorite dessert has a complicated preparation process but the end result is a joyride for the food lovers. Each layer of this dessert is baked individually and this sweet is a mix of tradition and culture of Goa. Usually this dessert is served with garnishing of almonds along with a side of warm ice-cream.

Another hard to resist sweets Goan food is dodol. It happens to be a pudding which has jaggery, coconut and rice flour as its main ingredients. This sticky delicious pudding is generally made during Christmas and is loved and enjoyed by one and all. Baath is actually a coconut cake with coconut as its main ingredient. This cake is yet another delicacy from Goan cuisine that easily finds its way to a person’s heart. This too is prepared during Christmas and has amazing texture plus it is baked in a clay oven which only enhances its taste.

It is a much known fact that Goa was home to the Portuguese for a long time and thus sweets Goan food has Portuguese touch in it as well. Serrudara is a dessert popular in Goa which is primarily a Portuguese dessert. It is made from Serrudara and sweet whipped vanilla cream. Serrudara means Sawdust and a layer of Serrudara refers to the layer of crushed biscuits. The silky cream and crunchy biscuits come together to make an ultimate dessert. Perad is yet another sweets delicacy in Goa which is conventionally prepared guava cheese. The rich brown color and mouthwatering taste of Perad has made it a favorite of many people.

Goan cuisine is delicious undoubtedly and people who like to explore good food this cuisine is like a treasure chest. Each and every dish made in Goa has an amazing and intriguing history and rich taste which is indeed a very rare combination.
