This place has something for everyone which means that it is indeed a perfect holiday destination. From the golden sandy beaches to the beautiful historical churches, Goa offers a lot to all the people who visit this place every year. Goan food too is very delicious and people come from all parts of the world to enjoy mouthwatering Goan cuisine. Is there something special about Goan cuisine? Well yes, of course there is. This cuisine mainly includes sea food and fish happens to be the key ingredient in almost every dish.
People who enjoy non-vegetarian food will definitely find Goan cuisine a joy ride for their taste buds. Goan food can be easily distinguished from other kinds of foods as a lot of different spices and ingredients are used while preparing this food. The authentic Goan dishes are very addicting and bound to impress one and all. Goa is a state that possesses a rich culture and heritage and the same reflects in its food. There is not one but a long list of Goan dishes that have won over the hearts of many. A potpourri of delicious flavors rightly describes the traditional food of Goa.
Goa is basically an Old Portuguese colony and hence the food too has Portuguese touch in it. Some of the popular Goan dishes are as follows: Goan fish curry which is indeed the most famous of them all. An authentic Goan meal is definitely incomplete without Goan fish curry. This curry is packed with rich taste and flavors and so is the next one of the list, Goan prawn curry. Some other amazingly delicious dishes of Goan cuisine are Bebnica and Fish Recheado. The former one is a dessert made from coconut milk among other key ingredients such as jaggery. One has to fall in love with this cake with every single bite he takes. The latter dish, Fish Recheado is actually a stuffed fish and the word ‘Recheado’ means stuffed in Portuguese. It is tangy in taste and again filled with joyful flavors.
In a nutshell, Goan food is different and very exciting to taste and enjoy. People tend to love Goan cuisine and they find more than one reasons to do so.
